Hi! I am Martha Myre, an elder in the United Methodist Church; now without a congregation!  I want to explore what it means to really live out the faith that I preach. So I am starting a new venture: I am taking music classes at the community college (to improve my skills and because I need more music in my life) and spending time just being around young adults. I want to listen to them, get to know them, understand what goes on with them.   Since I do need to earn some money,  I will offer services; I can do weddings (including premarital counseling), funerals, retreats, workshops, etc.  I will blog and write and do some video work.  But mainly I want to find new ways to engage people and help them learn about God, themselves, the bible, whatever.

I am not very good at being “edgy,” so this is not an edgy site.  It will reflect who I am as a woman, pastor, mom, wife, scholar, teacher and follower of Christ.  I will be adding to the site on a regular basis. Right now my only category is: Questions. I love questions, comments and discussion, but please keep things civil.

The personal stuff – I am the mother of three grown children (all contributing members of society – w00t!), and the grandmother of one absolutely adorable granddaughter.  I have a long-suffering husband whom I adore.  And 2 cats who think they run the household. (I may not do edgy, but I am pretty good at folksy.)
